What experience do I need to become a Press Waffle Co. franchise owner?
We pride ourselves on our simple, streamlined business model. For that reason we are looking less at your experience and more at you. We’ll provide the training, tools, and everything else you will need to open your store and operate it effectively.
Who is the ideal franchisee?
We are looking for dedicated individuals with a desire to act as an owner/operator. Running a business is a lot of work, and we expect our franchisees to be in their stores on a regular basis, actively managing the daily operations of their store. We are looking for natural leaders with a bent towards customer service, sales, and attention to detail. This is more than just a professional partnership, it is a personal relationship and so ultimately the "ideal" franchisee is someone that shares in our vision and is ready to roll up their sleeves.
what is provided as part of the Press Waffle Co. program?
We will provide everything you need to start and operate your business effectively. We will be with you every step of the way from training, to opening, and for as long as you run your store. See "The System" for more detail.
How much will the Press Waffle Co. program investment cost me?
The total initial investment necessary to begin operations ranges from $194,800 to $369,000 for a single location. This includes a $30,000 initial franchise fee; this fee may be discounted for qualified military veterans interested in a Press Waffle Co. franchise. It is important to have adequate capital to fund the initial business growth stages, and that should be taken into account when considering the initial investment. As with any new business, the initial investment, for some, can seem overwhelming. We will share all that we have learned from the opening of our own stores in order to maximize the value of your investment.
Is financing available?
No. We do not provide direct financing to franchisees, but we may refer to financing sources on a case by case basis.
Are there ongoing fees to pay?
We charge a royalty fee equal to 6% of weekly gross sales. These fees allow us to fund our ongoing support services and the continued development of recipes, product and supply channels, marketing tools, training programs, and systems upgrades.
Are there any advertising fees?
Press Waffle Co. franchise owners will be required to spend a minimum of 1% of weekly gross sales on local marketing. Press Waffle Co. franchisees will also contribute up to 2% of weekly gross revenues into the system marketing fund (however, this contribution will start at just 1%). Collected funds will be used to develop marketing strategies to promote the Press Waffle Co. brand and help cover the costs to develop local marketing materials and campaigns.
What is the term of the agreement?
The initial term of your agreement is seven years, with two subsequent successor agreement options of five years each.
Can i buy more than one franchise?
While we do have the ability to award multi-unit franchise agreements, our primary focus at this time will be on single unit agreements with owner/operator franchisees. These founding franchise partners will also have first access to other available locations in the future, once they have proven their ability to successfully operate their business.
How long does it take to become a Press Waffle Co. Franchise Owner?
The first step is to fill out the form on our Get Started page. After that, you will go through a comprehensive application process that takes about 6-9 weeks until a final agreement is signed. Once you have become a Press Waffle Co. franchisee, it typically takes between 3 and 4 months to secure a location, build out your store, complete the franchisee training, and get your store ready to open.
